It's visually stunning, especially since it was made in 1968, and the music is amazing but it's also irritatingly slow. I'm afraid I might not be sophisticated enough for this one.
This is my favorite movie of all time, the visuals and the idea behind it are just stunning.
This is not just a movie, it's a experience, and a fantastic, thought-provoking one.
Just watched it for the 4th time on BluRay with commentary from Keir Dullea and Gary Lockwood, the two principals.
Highly recommended in this HD format. Lockwood says at one point that audiences both then and now divided about 70/30 into those that couldn't praise it highly enough, and those who couldn't wait for it to finish. Pauline Kael of the NY Times hated it.
