When Kimberly has a violent premonition of a highway pileup she blocks the freeway, keeping a few others meant to die, safe...Or are they? The survivors mysteriously start dying and it's up to Kimberly to stop it before she's next.
No matter how meh this movie can be, the opening scene sticks with you. I have not met a single person who doesn't freak out over a logging truck. If you've seen people talking about driving away from log trucks, this movie is responsible for that. Its been a fear of my family and I and it even ended up happening on the highway down the road from my house and I just so happen to be running late for work and boom! logs everywhere. Despite the ridiculousness of the plot, it's a fun movie to watch.
Highly entertaining and I commend it for tying into the events of the first one as much as it does as I really was t anticipating that aspect of it. It’s not a masterpiece or anything but if you’re like me and love slashers, this gives you that same feeling but the lack of a physical killer turns every kill into a little guessing game and the kills are always satisfying because there’s a lot of red herrings to throw you off. I can’t imagine this series ever topping this entry and I think it’s one of the most fun horror films I’ve seen in a while.
This was one of the first Rated R movies I ever watched. Growing up as a good ol Mormon boy, I had no access to such sinful cinema. However when staying a week at my Aunt's house a state away with minimal supervision, 12 year old me had access to a new treasure trove of forbidden movies. And I chose Final Destination 2. I watched this a bunch of times, including all of the special features, so recently I picked up the same holographic covered DVD from a vendor mall.
I watched this with commentary from the director, two writers, and the producer. Let me tell you, these guys are not charming and this movie is not good. All the ridiculous kills though, the fake-outs, the way everything ties together with the first movie; it warms my heart in such a cheesy nostalgic way. Love it. Probably not gonna watch again anytime soon.
