Relentlessly dark and exciting. Edited to pinprick precision, superb production values, great acting all round, and with powerful, poignantly somber 80's synth for a score that echoes themes of dehumanization. I adore the lighting in this film, a ghostly blue that seems to penetrate nearly all the scenes. It's mostly effective in the last climatic scene between our protagonists and antagonist, but it's presence adds a touch of inhumanity that's just perfect for the subject matter. My only complaint would be the "blink and you'll miss it" exposition as I'm not a huge fan of the Terminator mythos, but intense action scenes and Hamilton's amazing performance more than make for it.
