What is a film? What is a performance? What are actors? What is a film crew? What is reality? What is fiction? What is a dialogue? What does the word "faggot" actually mean? Who is a director? What is intentionality? What is unintentionality? And, ultimately, what is truth?
There are no answers to any of these questions, but this film still manages to tackle all of them with aplomb. One of my major takeaways from this film (bearing in mind that EVERYBODY will have their own individual reaction to it) is that the director of a film is God in that little insular world, and every single thing they do has an effect, for better or for worse.
