Is it good? No. Is it bad? Maybe. Is it messy? Hell yes. Is it interesting? Hell yes. Should you watch it? Maybe.

This movie crosses so many Rubicons.

Pretty fresh, pretty wild, pretty unique, pretty messy and also pretty. The Fountainhead meets Caligula meets psychedelic drugs. I loved not knowing where this was going and what was gonna happen next.
After ONE FROM THE HEART, this is now the second time (that I know of) that Coppola has financed his own grand vision of a deeply personal, unconventional movie that has then flopped and lost him millions and millions of dollars.
I'm not a big fan of Coppola, but I loved ONE FROM THE HEART and liked MEGALOPOLIS a lot. It's sad every time, when a daring, unique auteur project dies at the box office.
P.S.: A few people are spilling some BS about "unnecessary sex scenes". First of all, "necessity" isn't a factor with Aubrey Plaza sex scenes, they have value in and of itself. Secondly, those scenes serve a story function, and are telling you about the character. So zip it, ya prudes.
