Comes from its loyal manga follower for 20 years. This 8-episode & first season series gave some very serious tone, quite different from the hilarious and fun in the anime. Also they removed some important characters and events, making its pace felt too hasty but losing some nostalgic and essential aspects. Only 60 % accurate in character portrayal and storyline compared to the manga, they even eliminated the scene where Luffy should have punched the sea monster who had attacked him in his childhood. The important canon story about Don Krieg and Logue Town were also absent. Hacchi or Hacchan, the fishman who will play quite important part in the future, are non exist in the Arlong Park here. They even add a ridiculous kissing scene between Usopp and Kaya. If you want some romance, do not look for it in One Piece. Or maybe they just want to serve some desperate "shippers". Overall, this only good to watch once in your lifetime.
