Was this movie generally heartfelt? Yes. Did it leave a lot to be desired? Ohh yeah. The CGI was one thing. The mannerisms they gave the dog and even the people, like the "villain" prospector, were very cartoon-y sometimes that it felt like it belonged more in Marmaduke or Air Bud. If the movie felt consistently like that tone then that would be fine, but it seemed to want to be pretty serious in other regards.

Better than expected. Gets better as it goes along. After a whle you don't mind the CGI dog or the over the top villain. Exciting heartfelt family movie
