I loved that they showed the development of Caesar's character at full length, you can always understand his behaviour and actions. It is not just an action movie, it is also a drama.
Certainly a decent movie, but not one that will go down in the history books or anything. It was significantly better than I expected, but my expectations were basically at zero.
People complain about cinema dumbing down, then when they make even a moderately intelligent movie it attracts comments like "Meh: The Movie" and "became quite boring".
As they say, people get what people deserve
