Walk the Line (2005)

A chronicle of country music legend Johnny Cash's life, from his early days on an Arkansas cotton farm to his rise to fame with Sun Records in Memphis, where he recorded alongside Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.

What I really liked was that Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon actually sung the songs themselves and spent months learning to sing. That's petty impressive and dedicated.

Good film.

Also very sad when you remember that Joaquin Phoenix's brother died in real life when they were young. This makes the scene were Johnny Cash is telling June about the death of his brother even more sad.

Beautiful movie. I was not a fan of Johnny Cash's music at all, even though I realized he was immensely talented. But still this movie gripped me and kept me entertained and interested. AND now I really love some of his songs!

I think the actors all did a great job - especially Joaquin Phoenix. It was heartbraking to watch his facial expressions in some scenes. I also hugely respect him and Reese Witherspoon for doing their own singing; I didn't realize that while watching the film, I really thought it was all playback. They were fantastic!

This is one of my all-time favorite movies.

I agree to the praise for the performance of the lead duo, but the plot made me uncomfortable, because it felt an awful lot like "No means yes" and "Keep harassing her until she loves you".
