Midnight Run (1988)

An accountant embezzles $15 million of mob money, jumps bail and is chased by bounty hunters, the FBI, and the Mafia.

This plot made possible by the fortunate fact that it only takes one half-hearted punch to the face to knock a fully grown man unconscious.

Seriously though, a pretty fun movie that has actually aged a lot better than most films of this genre from those days.

A solid and entertaining 80s comedy action film - De Niro is great and very funny as a tough, sarcastic and embittered bounty hunter having to bring in Charles Grodin's bail jumping accountant wanted by the mob. The writing is what really makes it work, that and the marvellous 80s-ness of it all - neon blue opening credits, Joe Pantoliano in a horrible shirt, Dennis Farina's huge moustache… it's all good.

One of the BEST 80ies movies and one of the best action/comedy buddy movies. With great dialog, fun, movie score, action and terrific pairing of Grodin and de Niro.

Very re-watchable!
