I went to cinema without high expectation, because critics panned it. But surprisingly it is very good movie. I thought that I'll get bored ,considering duration. But no..I didn't ! The story is cliche. But, technically it's superb… no wonder the budget reached up to 250 million dollars.
I like this movie.

Very amusing movie. I too, went in with low expectations but was pleasantly surprised in all aspects. The humor is good, the action is better. If you regard Pirates of the Caribbean in high regard, you owe it to yourself to see this movie.

I wouldn't say this is anything special, but it's more entertaining than 90% of Hollywood blockbusters, and it's a real shame that it's been vilified as much as it has been. Sure it feels bloated at times, with an inexplicably long run time, massive budget, and unnecessary and contrived framing device, but it never drags, and Depp and Hammer breathe fresh life into their respective characters, forming a wonderful partnership. The humour is very Pirates-esque, and for the most part it works beautifully, particularly the health inspector scene, while the action set pieces are without exception brilliant, from both a technical and entertainment standpoint.
Count me as very disappointed that we'll almost certainly never see a sequel to this, but then the studio is more than partly to blame for thinking that a $250 million plus budget Lone Ranger movie would ever make a profit. With a few more sensible business decisions, a shorter running time, and a better marketing campaign this could have been the success that the film itself deserves.
