It goes far beyond the Anthony Hopkins monologue scene.. most of the actings are greatly performed, the storyline evolves from a fair drama based into the interrelationship between the characters to a good thriller in the last 10 minutes of film. Despite the specialized critics I think the movie has its own movement, the storyline doesn't get "stuck" in any way. But I agree that if some relationships where developed beyond their stereotypes the movie would had much more to show….
Well I just love those movies "let's go round the world and see how so many different depressed and stupid people are unknowingly interconnected".
It's, at least, a fair movie.

Another one of those "let's go round the world and see how so many different depressed and stupid people are unknowingly interconnected," mega-story portmanteaus a la "Crash". Stick around for Anthony Hopkins giving a fantastic monologue at an AA meeting, otherwise just forget it.
